Identifying Text and Graphical Reports within Desktop/Web Applications.

a. VB (.exe) desktop application where output reporting formats are in excel formats.
b. .Net Web forms application where there are some text based reports made in Crystal reports 13.0.

There will be many more reports which will be created using Crystal Reports Designing Tool in b.

Queries
-------

a. Should we create some charts within excel report formats for the clients ?. How to identify those reports ?
b. For New Reports generation which will be preferred format viz Text or Graphical or Both to the end Users ?

Are there any thumb rules for identifying Graphical reporting formats over Text based reporting formats ?.

i.e.

1. This report will be Text based.
2. This report will be Graphical.
3. This report can both be Text as well as Graphical.
